Tuning the Parameters of Power System Stabilizer Using Runge Kutta Algorithm

Low-frequency oscillations due to unpredictable disturbances in an interconnected power grid are a serious threat the stability of system. Reliable operation modern system, when exposed sudden disturbances, is crucial, and safe system directly related success damping oscillations. Power System Stabilizer (PSS) devices have been used reduce fluctuations caused by short-time systems. These provide additional torque components generators as auxiliary control device excitation Due non-linearity electrical systems, it significant design multi-machine systems with optimum PSS parameters under critical conditions. In this paper, problem was solved using Runge Kutta Algorithm (RUN). The considered optimization which eigenvalue-based objective function has developed, proposed RUN method tested WSCC 3-machine 9-bus test linearized Heffron-Phillips model. model, enhanced shifting eigenvalues regions. When results obtained from examined, seen that most effective terms stability.
